5/18/05 A 7th alarm fire broke out at The old sports arena & coast guard station. The old sports arena burnt down to the ground. It was re built to School P.S. 198. No mutual aid was needed. Station 4 got a little burnt on the side but no major damage. The fire was also fought with out the Hook and Ladder, all trucks responded, there was also no rescue there to, Both The Hook and Ladder and Rescue Were at a mutual aid call at Orange County. Fire Fighter Billy Parker saved 1 worker a the coast guard station he was awarded the firefighter of the month award.
